6. Cross Border Network Events

The aim of the educational activity:

The project generally aims to increase awareness and cultivate a new way of approach among the new generations of this cross-border region , regarding environmental issues and the impact of their "friendly" behavior to the protection, promotion and management of natural resources. The creation of the "Code of conduct for an environmentally friendly behavior in Schools", the creation of Eco-Clubs and Environmental Boards in schools along with the Green School manual are a contribution of the project for improving the access towards environmental issues (namely energy, waste and water), in both countries.

Two big Regional Green Events were organized within the "Green schools, Cleaner environment, Healthier life",  Project.

The first Environmental education activity, organized by: "Biologists Albania", in cooperation with ‘DAR Korça’ and ‘ZA Pogradec’ held on 6th of February, ", with around 90 representatives from green schools in the region of Korça and Pogradec,Struga and Ohrid  as beneficiaries of this project.

After the presentation of the project by the Biologists, students of the Green Clubs presented the results of their projects and exchanged experiences regarding the greening of their schools assisted by the project. The presentations helped in understanding and green job grants in these schools which help to make schools green.

Each school presented the green environmental school projects which were awarded with small financial support within the projected activities.

We were happy to have the International Coordinator of FEE (Foundation for environmental education) from Denmark-Brid Conneely who was presenting all good International examples of eco-school programme from several continents. Many examples from schools from different countries were presented how they deal with their issues.

On the Event everyone spoke their native language, and there was simultaneous translation.

The Project Coordinators from the two countries promoted the project activities on a Local TV from Ohrid and presented the goals and the green results of the Project implementation.
